International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
Seymour College is committed to offering a flexible curriculum which supports Senior School students to achieve their goals and ambitions.
From 2017, Seymour will offer the IBDP to Year 11 and 12 students in addition to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
The IBDP offers further opportunities to foster in students a love of lifelong learning, enabling them to develop as problem solvers, deep thinkers and inquirers. This is not only in keeping with Seymour College’s educational aims, but are also traits required by tertiary institutions and employers in the 21st century.
The IBDP offers another outstanding and internationally recognised qualification for senior students (including international students, for whom the Diploma has particular currency in overseas jurisdictions), thereby offering greater choice and widening options for further study.
Through the Diploma Programme, students study a greater breadth of core subjects, including the university style Extended Essay, and Theory of Knowledge which heightens students’ awareness of their learning strengths.
In addition, the IBDP provides a structured opportunity to gain academic credit for Creativity, Action and Service.
