Informal orientation sessions can be arranged by the Enrolments Office upon request. These take the form of a day visit into the class of the appropriate age level. A developmentally appropriate orientation program for our Year 5 students transitioning into the Middle School also takes place during second semester.

In Term 4, a formal Orientation Day for students in Years 1 to 5 is conducted, during which students attend school for the morning in their class group for the following year. This gives the future students a chance to meet their new peers and become familiar with the school environment, prior to their official commencement at Seymour.

Parents can accompany their daughters for a welcoming assembly on Orientation Day followed by a morning tea with the Head of Junior School and key staff.

Carefully designed, and extensive, orientation programs are implemented for students transitioning into both our Reception and Mid Year Reception classes. These programs aim to assist these very significant transitions, for both parents and students, and include an Information Evening for parents, a series of orientation mornings for students and informal meet and greet opportunities for parents. The student focused orientation mornings give every girl the chance to begin developing very positive relationships with other students as well as relevant teaching and administration staff. It also assists in strengthening every students school awareness and sense of belonging to the Seymour community.
