At Seymour, we’ve always believed in the power of an all-girls’ education. But we also know that power doesn’t come simply from creating an all-girls’ environment.

It requires purposeful teaching that is engineered for the way girls learn. And to achieve that, Seymour has developed its own proprietary teaching system.

Developed by Principal Vanessa Browning and the College’s specialised educators, SEYMOUR INFIN8™ is based on eight core principles, each founded in the latest educational research.

Eight Core Principles

  1. We foster a safe and trusting environment where girls are free to grow, question and take risks.
  2. We teach through connection, knowing that relationships are central to motivation and meaning.
  3. We design curriculum that challenges, reflects and evolves so that girls build intellectual depth and agility.
  4. We centre girls’ voices not as a privilege granted but as a core principle so that they learn that their words carry weight and influence.
  5. We cultivate confidence as a foundation for growth, aware of its delicacy but steadfast in our believe that it empowers girls to learn and lead boldly.
  6. We shape curriculum that reflects the lives and perspectives of girls that are diverse and real.
  7. We know that silence speaks. In the spaces between words, we listen because a girl’s silence is not a void but a voice seeking to be understood.
  8. We honour identity as a journey of self-understanding. It is not fixed but continually shaped by a girl’s  values, experiences and sense of purpose. We make space for her to grow into who she is.
