Seymour announces Kevin Tutt as new Principal

The Board of Seymour College is delighted to announce that it has secured the services of one of Australia’s most respected educators – Kevin Tutt – as the College’s new Principal.

Mr Tutt was previously Principal of PAC for 10 years before moving to Cambodia in 2014 as head of teaching and learning at the Cambodian Children's Fund. He has been Seymour’s acting Principal since the start of the current school year.

“Kevin has made a huge impression on our girls, our staff and the entire Seymour community since joining us at the beginning of this year as acting Principal,” said Chair Rosina Hislop.

“His reputation as an outstanding educator and leader – particularly from his 16 years with Prince Alfred College – is known throughout independent schools across Australia, and it is thoroughly deserved.

“So, when he indicated his interest in a longer-term commitment to the College, we were naturally delighted to have someone of his calibre as one of our candidates.

“Ultimately, Kevin didn’t just prove to be the logical choice – he also proved to be the most exceptional. We couldn’t be happier for our girls and our community.”

Mr Tutt’s new contract runs until December 2022 when the College celebrates its centenary.

“I am extremely excited to be leading Seymour College in a new chapter to champion girls to become women of influence capable of making a difference in this world,” said Kevin Tutt.

“The education of girls plays an important role in creating a free, just and equal society.

“I am pleased to continue to lead Seymour College on its journey towards women’s empowerment, and to reinforce our vision for every girl to have the opportunity to reach her highest dreams.”

Mr Tutt has commenced in his new position with immediate effect.
