Seymour College’s Early Years (our ELC) caters for girls and boys from six weeks to school age across three carefully curated spaces.
Our Early Years children are nurtured by our educators, as they begin creating connections and discovering the world around them.
The learning journey at our Early Years takes children through three specially designed spaces – carefully created to cater for the needs and development of different ages.
A continuation of the home environment, where girls and boys feel safe and loved, whilst also learning to be independent and part of a larger group.
Girls and boys in this group discover, explore and create as they develop independence and learn to be an active member of their community.
Girls and boys further develop their relationships and more complex thinking, communication and language skills.
Our Prep program assists girls to adjust to the reality of big school through a carefully curated combination of hands on, play based learning and short bursts of intentional teaching.
At the Early Years, we believe in the uniqueness of each child, the need for children to develop their skills and abilities at their own individual rate, and the development of the whole person – intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
We provide:
The centre is open for 50 weeks per year from 7.00am until 6.00pm.
Our Playgroup is open to both Seymour families and members of the wider community.
The Early Years, in conjunction with the Junior Years, run weekly Playgroup sessions on Mondays from 9.00am-10.15am.
Playgroup sessions are run on Mondays from 9.00am-10.15am. They are held in a beautiful outdoor area of our Junior Years during warmer months, and inside our Early Years learning space during winter.
Parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers to preschool age children (current community and external families) are welcome to join our Playgroup. Seymour Playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for children to engage in new learning and play, providing them with a chance to connect with others and develop social skills.
