Early Years

Seymour College’s Early Years (our ELC) caters for girls and boys from six weeks to school age across three carefully curated spaces.

Early Years

Our Early Years children are nurtured by our educators, as they begin creating connections and discovering the world around them.

The learning journey at our Early Years takes children through three specially designed spaces – carefully created to cater for the needs and development of different ages.

Infants (6 weeks to two years old) and toddlers (two to three years old)

A continuation of the home environment, where girls and boys feel safe and nurtured, whilst slowly developing their independence. They will start to explore their environment, learn to be part of a larger group and build confidence around older learners and develop safe connections with their educators.

3-5 year old Kindy program (three to five years old)

As they grow, the girls and boys will further develop their relationships and more complex thinking, communication and language skills, while becoming more active members of the Seymour community.

Prep (four year old girls)

Our Prep program assists girls to adjust to the reality of school through a carefully curated combination of hands on, play based learning and short bursts of intentional teaching. Prep forms part of our Junior Years, also situated on McGregor Campus.

Our Centre

At the Early Years, we believe in the uniqueness of each child, the need for children to develop their skills and abilities at their own individual rate, and the development of the whole person – intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

We provide:

  • A safe, caring and nurturing environment where children feel a sense of belonging and self worth.
  • Qualified and dedicated staff who monitor your child’s progress.
  • A varied and stimulating learning program aimed at developing life skills and competencies.

The centre is open for 50 weeks per year from 7.30am until 6.00pm.
