OCA Hockey Club
This year The OCA Hockey Club is fielding a team in the Adelaide Metro 3 Competition whilst maintaining a friendly, inclusive social club. Our season runs from 1st April to 10th September (including 3-4 weeks of finals). Training is held at Prince Alfred College on Tuesday nights and all girls interested in joining the team at any stage are welcome to come out for a hit. We are always looking for new players to join our ranks, regardless of skill level and are currently recruiting for a goal keeper as well as field players for the 2017 season, All enquiries to play are to be directed to email@example.com or contact Veronica Rothe on 0434784117. Hockey parents, teachers, current and past students are all welcome.

OCA Netball Club - Monday
The Seymour OCA netball teams played in the Eastern Districts Netball Association Senior Winter Competition on Monday Evenings in Campbelltown – enduring the winter weather playing outside – rain, hail or shine! We enjoyed displaying good team spirit, wearing our black watch tartan PE skirts.
We had two teams playing, comprising of leavers from 2012-2015. It has been a lot of fun and a great way to build up some contact with girls across the years. We played ten games, with an even distribution of wins and losses – and a weekly dose of fun and laughter! The association invited us to play in their summer competition, of which we have nominated one team to play from October to mid-December. We are appreciative of the OCA in supporting our netball teams!

OCA Netball Club - Saturday
The Old Collegians (Saturday afternoon) netball team have had yet another successful season overcoming injuries and illness to make it to the final rounds. Unfortunately the Grand Final was lost to season rivals, Pembroke Old Scholars but all 11 qualified players eagerly took part in the match. Congratulations to the Old Collegians who participated in the Grand Final: Kim Carracher (Payne 2002), Melissa Noonan (Powell 2002), Hannah Rigden (2014), Alison Sporne (Penn 1991), Beth Thomas (Sporne 2002), Tara Yeates (2014). Also special congratulations to Melissa Noonan (Powell 2002) who played her 150th game for the club this year.
This season the squad had a mix of ages and experience and welcomed new younger players and even current Year 11 student, Lucinda Penn. With several of the older players stepping down now, the team encourages Old Collegians of any age to join. The season commences on Saturday, 22 April 2017. If you are interested in playing, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. The team will be finalised in February, 2017.

OCA Soccer Club
The Seymour Old Collegians’ Soccer Club has had a fantastic start to the 2016 season, winning all three of our first matches as well as the first Cup match of the tournament. We began pre-season training earlier than usual this year and our efforts have clearly paid off. As well as our usual trainings, Coach Tom also scheduled several pre-season trial matches, giving us the opportunity to increase our match fitness and to prepare us for the season ahead. Lots of new faces have joined the club this year and they have all settled in well—one new player is even our current top goal scorer! With one team registered in our division, as opposed to the two we’ve had for the past few years, we have plenty of players available for matches. These players all bring their own unique sets of skills and abilities to our SOCS family, as well as fresh legs for tiring matches. We are currently sitting at the top of the league table after the first three rounds. Last year saw the club take out the Division 4/5/Collegiate League Cup for the first time and we plan to take out the title again this year, along with the Women’s Collegiate League premiership. It may be early days but it’s looking promising so far!

I am trying to organise a Seymour OCA Tennis team for the coming Winter 2017 season as a follow up to the team entered last Winter. I would like any interested Seymour OCA’s Tennis players to register by email.
There is also an opportunity for the current Seymour Tennis Girls’ who are not linked to a club or would like to change to play competition in a Seymour OCA Tennis team this Winter. We need 4 or 5 players more players to make the team happen.
The team will play on Saturday afternoons (1 PM start) as Seymour OCA in a Women’s Only competition co-ordinated by Tennis SA with Singles & Doubles played in the match and each Rubber will be played as the best of 3 sets with a Super Tie Break to decide the 3rd set in both Singles & Doubles.
The team will play their home matches at the Hectorville Tennis Club, a division of the Hectorville Sports and Community Club, at the Daly Oval complex in Fisher Street at Magill.
I will try to organize for 1 or 2 home matches to be played at Seymour if that fits in with the Netball season.
The fees for playing the Winter season have not been finalized but the team fee will be divided amongst the regular players in the team.
FYI the 2016 Winter fee was $100 per player which included the team registration fee, Tennis balls and Court hire.
The Winter Tennis season will start in late April or early May.
Please feel free to contact me if
• You would like to play in the team
• You have any leads to follow
• You have any queries re Seymour OCA Tennis
Or any queries re Tennis Coaching or playing Tennis competition.
I would appreciate your help to spread the word.
Team nominations will close with Tennis SA in early March and the division I apply for will depend on the standard of the players in the team.
Please contact me as soon as possible so that you can be included in the Seymour OCA Tennis team.
