The involvement and participation of the Seymour College community in the daily life of the College is an important and highly valued feature of Seymour. Without this support the College would not be able to offer such a broad range of experiences for our students.
The most visible volunteers in the College are the members of the Parents' and Friends' and Old Collegians' Associations who contribute much of their time to the College through their fundraising and friend-raising activities.
However, the community's support does not end there. The Parent Representatives volunteer their time for each class or year level and all parents rally support for their daughters as they participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as Pedal Prix, sport, musicals, drama productions and debating (just to name a few).
The Seymour College students themselves are also outstanding volunteers, either outside the College (often as part of the Service program) or assisting with the school activities. Many of these girls continue to be involved in the College when they leave school. It is estimated that over 80% of the coaches at Seymour are Old Collegians. These old scholars participate in every sport offered by the College - hockey, tennis, netball, soccer, swimming, and athletics - as coaches or umpires.
