Junior School Scholarship

Academic Scholarships - Year 5

Seymour College welcomes students who wish to enter the College at Year 5 level in 2019, and to girls currently at Seymour College, who will be Year 4 in 2018, to apply for an academic scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on ACER results only and are offered at the discretion of the Principal.

General All-Rounder - Year 5

Open to external applicants only for entrance in 2019.

These scholarships are offered to students entering Year 5 in 2019 who are not currently enrolled to commence at Seymour College. Applicants need to exhibit sound skills in a variety of areas, which could include academic, equestrian, performing arts and sport.

Students should also be able to demonstrate how they will enhance the life of the College. The tuition remission and duration of the scholarship is at the discretion of the Principal.

Applicants are required to submit:

A letter, in the applicant’s own words, stating her reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining her current and future goals as well as a portfolio showcasing experience.

Short listed candidates will be required to have an interview with the Principal, as part of the application process. 

Copies of the two latest school reports and NAPLAN results will need to be supplied with the application.

Middle School Scholarships

Mary McGregor Academic Scholarship  

For current Seymour College students only (year 8 and 9)

The Mary McGregor Scholarship is available to a student who is currently attending Seymour College at Year 8 or Year 9 level in 2019. This scholarship is awarded based on the results of the ACER academic exam. This scholarship will cover half tuition fees for the remainder of the student’s secondary education.

To apply for this scholarship go to the appropriate year level in 2019 listed under the Academic scholarships. Scholarships are offered at the discretion of the Principal.

Margaret Macdonald All-Rounder Scholarship - Years 6 to 10

The Margaret Macdonald Scholarship is for a student entering the College between Year 6 to Year 10. This scholarship is awarded following an interview with the Principal and a review of a student’s abilities across a number of areas, which may include academic, extracurricular activities and service. This scholarship is open to students looking to enter the school in 2019. The tuition remission and duration is at the discretion of the Principal. Daughters of Old Collegians’ are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are required to submit:

A letter, in the applicant’s own words, stating her reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining her current and future goals as well as a portfolio showcasing experience.

Short listed candidates will require to have an interview with the Principal, as part of the application process.

Carlene Johnson All-Rounder Scholarship - Year 11

The Carlene Johnson Scholarship is for a Year 11 student looking to enter Seymour College in 2019. The scholarship offers a 50% remission in tuition fees and is awarded to a student who would not ordinarily be able to afford to attend the College.

Applicants are required to submit:

A letter, in the applicant’s own words, stating her reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining her current and future goals as well as a portfolio showcasing experience.

Short listed candidates will require to have an interview with the Principal, as part of the application process. 

Copies of the two latest school reports and NAPLAN results will need to be supplied with the application. Parents will be required to answer questions on their financial position.

Performing Arts Scholarships

THE PERFORMING ARTS – DANCE SCHOLARSHIP - YEAR 10

Seymour College offers a thriving Seymour Dance Program, hosted onsite in our dedicated Dance Studio, and SACE Dance at Stages 1 and 2. The Performing Arts – Dance Scholarship offers a 50% remission on tuition fees for Year 10 through to the end of Year 12 for a student studying SACE Dance and with talent and career aspirations in Dance. This scholarship is open to students who are entering Year 10 in 2019 and who are not yet enrolled at Seymour College.

Applicants are required to submit:

A letter, in the applicant’s own words, stating her reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining her current and future goals as well as a portfolio showcasing experience.

Short listed candidates will require to have an interview with the Principal, and an audition as part of the application process.

Music Scholarships

2019 MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Our Music scholarships are open to instrumental and voice students who seek to enter the College at Year 6 through to Year 11 in 2019, and to girls currently attending Seymour College in Year 5 through to Year 10 in 2018.

The Music scholarships program enables girls with exceptional musical skill to benefit from a Seymour College education while developing their own talent within an atmosphere of excellence in Performing Arts. All Music scholarship recipients are expected to be involved in the academic and performance programs in Music as well as extra-curricular bands or ensembles.

Applicants must be a minimum standard of AMEB Grade 3 or equivalent. They need to display excellence as performers, with a high degree of technical proficiency and musicality on one or more instruments. They will be required to play an active part in the musical life of the College in curricular and co-curricular endeavours.

Applicants are required to submit:

A letter, in their own words, stating reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining current and future goals. Any recent music instrumental or vocal examination reports should accompany the application.

Copies of the two latest school reports and NAPLAN results are to be supplied with the application. Each short-listed applicant will be required to have an audition.

Boarding Scholarships

BOARDING SCHOLARSHIPS - YEAR 6-10

The Boarding Scholarships and Isolated Student Scholarship are open to girls who wish to enter Seymour College at Year 6 through to Year 10 in 2018.

Seymour College’s Boarding scholarship program exists to support and foster the diversity of our population by ensuring that an education at Seymour College is accessible to a wide range of students.

To that end, we are pleased to be able to offer Boarding scholarships to families from all parts of rural Australia. In addition, one scholarship will be offered to a student who meets the isolated students’ criteria as defined by Centrelink for the AIC allowance.

The Boarding scholarship program seeks to offer places to students who will add to the diverse nature of the College’s day and boarding communities. While academic excellence is not a prerequisite for a Boarding scholarship, a student’s commitment to her schooling is.

A letter, in the applicant’s own words, stating her reasons for applying for the scholarship and outlining her current and future goals as well as a portfolio showcasing experience. Scholarships are offered at the discretion of the Principal.

Short listed candidates will be required to have an interview with the Principal, as part of the application process. 

Copies of the two latest school reports and NAPLAN results, any awards or certificates outlining performance levels in areas of interest, including any leadership roles within school or the community. Scholarships are offered at the discretion of the Principal.

AUSTRALIAN INDIGENOUS EDUCATION FOUNDATION (AIEF) - YEAR 8

Seymour College has formed a partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation to assist Indigenous students from Year 8 (in 2019) and above, attend the College. All students on AIEF scholarships are required to be boarders.
