Student Leadership

Students at all levels are given many opportunities to develop skills in responsible leadership. In Junior School, students in Year 5 accept responsibility for particular tasks and activities; in Senior and Middle School, girls take on a variety of leadership roles:

Form Captain
Vice Form Captain
Black Watch Magazine Representative
Environment Representative
Student Representative Council
Service Representative
Sports Captain
Year 9 Clan Representative

Each student is expected to take responsibility for routine classroom duties and various year groups have particular responsibilities.

At the culmination of this training, Year 12 students collectively accept the role of leaders of the school. Some are elected to designated tasks such as:

Head Girl
Deputy Head Girl
Black Watch Editors
Head Boarder
Deputy Head Boarder
Environment President
Environment Secretary
Music Captain
Service President
Service Secretary
Sports Captain
SRC President
SRC Secretary
Clan Chief
Clan Chieftain

All senior students act as role models. They also provide leadership in Service activities, Clan competitions and in public ceremonies.

Year 9 students are formally recognised as leaders of the Middle School.
