Junior School - Pre School

Pre School

Seymour Pre School provides children with an atmosphere of busy exploration and creativity where inquisitive minds are stimulated, guided and encouraged.

Pre School children move into the Junior School for special learning activities, using the wonderful facilities of the school and the expertise of the Junior School teaching staff. Special activities include:

  • "Mouse Movers" in the Junior School computer laboratory where children learn how to start the computer, the names of the different parts of the computer, how to print and how to manipulate the mouse.
  • "Jump and Jive" in the Sports Centre gymnastics room where the focus is on balance, spatial awareness and confidence.
  • "Library Lovers" in the Junior School Library where the librarian introduces children to a love of literacy and books, to the joy of having books read to them, and of discovering the worlds that exist in their imagination.
  • "Music Magic", based on movements to music and including games, songs, playing instruments, listening and exploration.

Pre School operates Monday to Friday from 8.45am to 12.15pm with out-of-hours care available from 7.30am and from 12.15pm to 6.00pm.

Seymour Playgroup

Seymour College Pre School is now operating a playgroup for families with children under three years of age on Friday mornings from 9.00am to 10.30am.

The playgroup aims to provide a stimulating, creative and safe environment where children and their parents or carers can have fun and relax together. We also aim to help children develop social skills such as sharing, cooperating and playing with others and to promote parents' understanding of their children and their development.

If you are interested in our playgroup and would like further information, please contact the Director of Admissions, Mrs Elaine Curran, on 8379 0011 or complete the request for further information form.
